1996 Graduate of Crockett County High School

2000 Graduate of the University of Tennessee at Martin; Bachelor of Science in Agriculture

2011 Graduate of the University of Tennessee at Martin; Master of Science in School Counseling

I began my teaching career in Agriculture Education here at CCHS in the fall of 2000. I taught Ag. and was an FFA Advisor for 11 wonderful years. I finished my Master's in School Counseling in 2011 and moved to the Guidance office where I am now the 9th and 10th grade counselor. Even though I miss working with my ag. students in the classroom on a daily basis, I now have the opportunity to get to know all of the students at CCHS and help them make their high school career successful.

William Butler Yeats said that "education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire." I believe as educators that it is not only our job to teach the material but to do so in a manner that is engaging and motivational for the students. In order for our students to be successful, every adult in our building must be dedicated to the education and well-being of our students; teachers, counselors, administrators, office staff, cafeteria workers, and custodians. The anciet African proverb still rings true; it takes a village to raise a child.
